What is it?
Post-rehabilitation fitness, or medical fitness, is a relatively new field in the medical and fitness industry that helps patients with injuries or recovering from diseases transition from sickness to fitness. Unlike traditional medical therapy, medical fitness focuses on preventive care more than treatment with exercise, nutrition and coaching. Medical fitness professionals usually work with a special population, such as older adults or post-surgical clients.
Where do I come in?
I integrate my clients who have suffered an injury or illness back to the community with exercise, care, and coaching. We work on stability, balance, joint mobility, gait patterns, cardiovascular, and strength exercise, corrective exercise to improve posture and some nutritional and lifestyle guidance. I also work closely with your healthcare providers, physical therapists, chiropractors etc., to transition you to a full recovery after your injury or post-surgery and therapy.
